Our staff, interns, and volunteers at API Equality – Northern California are proud to uplift Alain Dang’s life work and legacy of activism.
Alain was a community leader by example. He helped create API Equality – Northern California, served as a founding board of the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA), and worked as a staff member of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. It is without a doubt Alain has touched the lives of many during his time with all of us.
Many links have been circulating around the web, honoring Alain’s incredible life and commitment to justice:

A message from Alain’s family on February 10th, 2014:
“Alain Dang’s parents would like to thank everyone for the many kind words and support during this difficult time. They have read many of the posts and comments on Alain’s FB page and are overwhelmed with solace. They take comfort in knowing he is loved by many and has touched countless lives, and that he will be watching over all of us until we meet again.
Everyone is welcome to come celebrate Alain’s life as we are planning a memorial for Alain on Wednesday, February 12 at 5:00 pm. at Oak Hill Funeral Home in San Jose (Chapel of the Oaks). Alain will be buried on Thursday, February 13 at 10:00 am. at Oak Hill Memorial (open to all).
In lieu of any flowers or gifts, the family is asking you make an online donation to any of the organizations dear to Alain. Here are three suggestions and let them know the donation is in Alain Dang’s memory:
The outpour of positive thoughts and comments during the past week have helped us through this tough time. In loving memory of Alain, we will continue celebrating his life through our fight for justice.
