Thank you to everyone who celebrated our fourth wave of amazing interns! With a packed community room filled with friends and family, the interns and staff shared their appreciations and the value of LGBTQ API advocacy and visibility work. When the interns shared their reflections of the summer,  it reminded me that it wasn’t too long ago that I interned with API Equality – Northern California.  As part of the first class of interns in 2010, I have witnessed the transformational work of this organization, especially its dedication to develop young leaders within our diverse LGBTQ API communities.   The staff invest intentional time and efforts into the program and the interns walk away with personal growth and professional skills. My internship was a life-changing experience and after four classes, API Equality – Northern California continues to prove to be a space for community building and sense of home-coming.
